My last post was a tongue-in-cheek look at Mrs. Clutter and the way the title of ”President" had gone to her head. The fact is I am almost ashamed of myself for making light of these items because what she is doing is not a laughing matter. The baseballs and baseball hats are just childish muscle flexing, the attacks on the CDL acquisition more of the same, but now she is accusing Levi of managing the baseball team during his hours of work as transportation manager. The theme here is obvious: continue to focus on one person and attack each and every aspect of that person until the board members involved break him or her. This type of action by a supervisor, administrator or board member is improper and immoral.
There is a consistent process from these board members to “search and destroy”. Lets look back: Tom Sable, Ed Dalton, Chad Daloia, Ed Dalton, the football team, Ryan Daloia, Ed Dalton, Dennis Makel, Levi Bristor, the entire staff of cafeteria workers, the baseball team (yes, Ed was three times) I could continue here, but you get the point. Interestingly, most of these deal with athletics or people who genuinely care about our children. We are told “it’s not about sports”. The majority of these items and many others would never be tolerated by the average person. However, because they are directed at teachers, coaches and other school personnel, by school board members, we have begun to tolerate the behavior.
I do not know if certain members of this board will ever develop a conscience. I do not know if those same board members will ever realize the importance of having good, hard-working employees. We can certainly hope for those things, and we can continue to thank those members that have cast away the venomous attitudes of others and allowed common sense and decency to be their guiding factors.
The election will be here soon. The three members who continue to create the most havoc will not be on the ballot. However, we still have the ability to surround them with new board members that will bring a sense of decorum to the board and could bring respect back to the Trinity School System.
Interesting that the one person who is consistently inadequate in his job performance and late on a regular basis gets totally left alone! For some reason they not only tolerate the AD's total lack of commitment and knowledge but they also enable him. He now parks in the back of the building so it's easier for him to sneak in. Why is it that he isn't held accountable? Isn't Dr. K. his superior? Why is it that his standards are set at next to nothing and those that go above and beyond are under constant scrutiny and criticism? All that he has to do is show up even if he's late. He's not even on time for 2 hour delays! Let's not forget that he usually takes off the day before a holiday and of course is off for all the major holidays including Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day! Is it true that he's upped his Solitaire game while he's getting paid $75,000 to do nothing at Trinity?!!! Then again, does any of this surprise you?!
ReplyDeleteIt is understandable that the board doesn't want to waste taxpayers money however they need to look at their own reckless spending! $75,000 on a useless AD, attorney bills advising the board on the legalities regarding the superintendents poor choices in his personal life, LERTA attorney fees and they still said "no" to Scott Day, the $25,000 tennis ball audit, the discrimination lawsuit, they pay for 2 attorneys...one includes driving time. Again, how much did those hats cost?!
ReplyDeleteIs there something to be said for the statement "majoring in minor things". What do people expect when the quality of the school board members could be measured with a thimble. Would you let an unskilled person take out your appendix? No, but do we let unskilled, uneducated people tear apart the district instead of looking at the education first and foremost? Yes, why, because these individuals were elected with their own adgenda, not with education first mindset. Vendettas have no place in education. Micromanaging has no place, the last superintendent was a perfect example of that. It is time for the intelligent taxpayors to make a stand for their kids. Even if their kids are the ones down the street who will be making major decisons in this living area in 20-30 years.
